1) Using Graphs
A graph is a picture or chart showing the differences between things that we can measure. It helps us to understand information when we can see the facts in a picture. We use different kinds of graphs to show different kinds of information.
Beautiful coral reefs are found in warm, shallow seas. They stop beaches and shorelines from being washed away by waves and storms. They are home to thousands of different types of sea animals.The reefs are made of the skeletons of millions of little sea creatures called polyps. They take thousands of years to build up into coral reefs.
6) Volcanoes
A volcano is a mountain that erupts – it explodes! Hot, melted rock called lava blows out of the top. It runs down the side of the mountain. The volcano shoots out steam and smoke and ash. It is dangerous for people and animals. Hot lava can cover farms and towns and houses.
Children around the world eat all kinds of food. In some countries their food is different from ours. It looks different and it tastes quite different, too. Did you know that some of the foods you eat came from another country? How do people make their kind of food?
10) Perfect Pets
If you could get a pet, what pet would you get? Would you get a rabbit or a mouse? Would you choose a goldfish or a turtle? How would you choose?
11) Puppy School
Puppies like to chew things. They also like to run and chase things and jump up. They don't come when their owners call them. Some puppies go to Puppy School. What do you think they learn at Puppy School?
12) Teeth
Teeth are very important to help us eat our food. Babies with no teeth can only have milk or soft food. Animals need special teeth to help them catch their food. There are lots of different kinds of teeth to help them.
13) First Cars
Did you know that there were no cars in the world until about 150 years ago? People rode in carriages pulled by strong horses. Then clever inventors found some ways to make carriages that moved without horses. They tried many kinds of engines and carriages before the first real car was invented.
14) Shark and Crab
Sharks are very big and strong. They are fast and hungry, too. Sometimes little animals are stronger than big animals. Do you know how a little animal could help a big animal?
15) Why Recycle?
Things that we don't want any longer can be called rubbish, trash, junk or garbage. What do we do with it? What happens to it at your house? Do you recycle it? Recycling means reusing something that would otherwise be thrown away. What things could we recycle from our rubbish?
16) Playing Keyboard
"When someone plays a song on a keyboard, how do they know which keys to play? The keys on a keyboard have note names. Every song is made up of notes. The note names tell you which key to press to play a song. Have you ever played a keyboard? What song did you play?"
17) Tricky Tangrams
People have always liked doing puzzles. There are word puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, maze puzzles and lots of other puzzles. What puzzles do you know about? A Tangram is a very old puzzle game from China. Try it!
